Can the Pterodactyl App be used in place of a Windows 11 VM?

Has anyone yet installed the Pterodactyl Panel in the Apps section, and if so, can you share anything to be aware of?

I am currently on TNS v24.10.2.2, and will likely wait for 25.0.4.2 or later due to having a Win11 VM on which a RAT 4 (7 Days to Die) server manager and ARK Server Manager (hosting a 16-server ARK Survival Evolved cluster) that I want to migrate successfully.

I am thinking of replacing the VM with an instance of Pterodactyl to manage both 7 Days to Die and ASE servers. From what I have read, apps can more easily make the transition from TNS 24.10.2.2 to 25.0.4 than virtual machines can at this time.

Hey, I’ve looked into this too. Pterodactyl should work for both 7 Days to Die and ARK servers if the Docker images are set up right. Just be ready to handle networking and volume configs manually. It won’t be as plug-and-play as ARK Server Manager, especially for clusters. But yeah, apps do seem to survive SCALE upgrades better than VMs.
