Problem/Justification
Since I don’t use the catalog, I’d like to have an option to disable it completely to avoid failed to sync chart error on the first startup
Impact
docker function can be easier to use for user who have poor access to github or want to deploy truenas in Intranet
If you don’t want to use the apps feature you can Unset the apps Pool. You can still use docker manually.
If you don’t want to unset the pool but also don’t want to see the error message you can disable the “Unable to Sync Catalog”-alert.
I am not sure if going to Apps → Configuration → Settings and disabling “Check for docker image updates” will prevent the check at startup, but I suppose it’s worth a try if you haven’t already.
I experienced the Catalog Sync issue when I (mis)configured my ethernet adapter. I could access the nas and everything seemed to work. Then a day I just reset the interface config back to use DHCP and the sync issue disappeared. Would be interesting to know more about this.
