Hello y’all… After a power outage caused by an incompetent electrician I can neither log in to the WEB GUI nor change the password on the CLI. At first the NAS would not boot at all. I had to enter its BIOS and reset the Boot Order to boot from the correct drive. Now it does boot but the Web GUI does not accept my old root password. I have tried to reset it by choosing Option 7 in the CLI (Change password) but the Password prompt does not display any typed characters. I am somewhat mystified by this. Can the root password have been reset by the power shortage? Can I leave the Password blank in Option 7 and just hit Enter? Any assistance will be very much appreciated. Thanks!
That’s the way any Unix-y OS treats passwords.

Type in a password (it will not display) and then Enter.

Thanks, dan. I have moved from TrueNAS to Windows 11. My PC has two HDD data disks from TrueNAS in a RAID array. Now I need to (1) remove the RAID array configuration from my BIOS Setup (Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro BIOS Version F12) and (2) convert the two HDDs from ZFS to NTFS. Tall order, eh?
