Using the manual i tried to create ftp connection
Turned on service, created user, forwarded port on mikrotik from white ip to local on truenas, and it seems like it should word, is has connection, but
Truenas always tell me “503 error, cannot login”
BUT i did ALL THE SAME with sftp and it works, so i’m not to dumb to write login or pass incorrect
So what the…?)
Why use ftp if sftp works?
FTP is not a good protocol. Iirc you need to expose two ports.
cause if i use sftp, user sees all tree catalogue, that i think isn’t good at all
i want to user can see only shared folder
and as i can see in manual, there’s only solution - use ftp tls
well, i solved the problem with incorrect login\password, by recreating user
seems like it was issue with permissions
but now i have the other one
i already forwarded ports and external ip easy pings from other devices
sftp still works good, but ftp…
Solved.
It was cause of TLS checkbox in settings of ftp
