Can't Access the web GUI

I have had freenas running for years without issue.

Today I was unable to connect to my network folder on my NAS, and I was unable to connect to the web GUI. Plex was still running fine and all media stored on the NAS was accessible.

I unplugged my NAS and moved it to my office where I could plug it into a monitor.

WHen I started it I saw the network IP listed was 0.0.0.0. So I did the network configuration to set the IP to what it was before. It now shows the IP, but I still cannot connect over the network, the web GUI, and plex is now not working as I expected.

Here is my ifconfig.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Have you set a static IP or is it auto assigned via DHCP? If you exit out of that screen you could try and reset the network settings then reboot.

PS: love the ipconfig typo I do that all the time

So I got impatient and reinstalled and I have the same issue. After a reinstall I have 0.0.0.0.

I thought maybe it was a hardware issue, but that wouldn’t make sense since Plex was working and my kids were watching a movie from the Plex while this was happening. I bought a new intel NIC just to be sure.

I set it to static IP using these steps:

Sounds odd. Have you got activity lights on the network port on your NAS?

Ummm good news and bad news. I started removing variables and after changing cables it works now…

So good news is whatever the issue is is resolved. Bad news, I reinstalled already lol.

I’ll move it back to it’s normal spot with the new CAT 6 cable and see if it is still good to go and update.

Ya it’s working fine now. Gonna chalk this up to the cord? But everything seems like it is working fine now. Thanks for the help!
