Cant delete old NIC after upgrade to new hardware

Ive just updated my motherboard, and made sure to save my config, and after installing, i reuploaded the config, but when it loads to the screen with IP, it says no interface availble, so i got to edit (1), an my desired IP is set to the previous systems NIC, and it wont allow me to delete the old NIC in order to use the IP on my current board

So far ive tried deleting the old NIC, which it seems to do this task, but when the edit interfaces page reloads, the old nic is still there

ive also tried changing the ip/subnet of the old NIC but says its attached to applications node but i cant access the UI to unmount the apps

ive tried changing new NIC to several different IP’s/subnets, but it just keeps saying its in use.

Tried renaming both nics, but says name in use

Honestly out of ideas, am i going to be forced to fresh install?

IS it in use? If you have a VM or if Apps are set up (even if you only picked the App pool, not running any right now) you will not be able to change network settings related to that NIC.

So i just re-enabled the DHCP server on my router (was being done through pihole on this nas), and set the new NIC interface to DHCP, which allowed me to access the UI.
I then went to apps, and unset the pool, which came up with an IP error… so i went to advanced settings (in apps) and was able to reassign the pool to the new NIC, which then allowed me to delete old NIC, and reassign its address.

Now its saying “web ui https certificate setup failed” and i cant seem to log into to the HTTPS UI, but im sure its just some sort of configuration, should be able to resolve it !! Hopefully this helps someone down the line
