Have a bit of an odd issue with my Chelsio T520-ll card.
It initialized and worked fine in 24.04 (i believe that is the last version it worked with no intervention in.) But all subsequent updates to Truenas, it does not work when booting into them straight away. What I have to do to get it to work is boot into 24.04 first, then select ‘reboot’ and then boot into the most current version of truenas (25.xx) Anyone have an idea on why this might be or something I can load at kernel boot level to get it to work without me having to do this on more current versions?
thanks for any direction, I am stumped.
No one? What would be different on card initialization between kernels like this?
I use a T520-CR. It works without issues on one of my 25.04 systems.
The T520-LL-CR (?) ought to be fairly similar, perhaps it’s a BIOS issue? Something related to PCIe power saving or similar?
Thanks for the response. Odd thing is if I go in and select 24.X and boot into that, it recognizes it THEN do a reboot, I can select 25.X and it works. Its almost as if there is something initializing the card on my hardware in 24.x that was removed in 25. It is an old system, Sandy Bridge era, but it is strange that it works 100% with 100s of days uptime if I just boot into 24.x first and then ‘reboot’ to 25.x. If I try to boot straight into 25.x, there is no networking on the Chelsio. I just updated the Chelsio in DOS to all the most current ROMs and Firmwares and the behavior is exactly the same.
