Core not reconnecting to WIndows domain after wan outtage

Hello,
I have a TrueNAS-13.0-U6.3 box at a remote site connected to the main via Lan2Lan vpn. There is a windows domain controller at the main office.

Site is very rural and internet connection drops at least once a month.
When internet comes back up this truenas box will not reconnect to the domain.
I end up rebooting to restore access.

During the wan outage and til reboot local users cannot access the smb shares.

Looking for a couple things:

Make the server reconnect to the domain controller automatically

Cache domain info to allow local users to maintain smb access.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you considered setting up an RODC at the remote site? That’d be a way to avoid having an outage at all for your users.

I was hoping to be able to stay within truenas.
There are only 3-4 users at each site with 500gb storage. 2 smb shares.
Thinking if I had to add a box I would just switch from truenas to a windows server. doesn’t make sense in our environment to have 2 devices…
