Hello Everyone, I want to buy a HBA LSI so that i can do RAID since i found out that SATA expansion is not that reliable in terms of ZFS. I found someone selling a AOC-S2308L-L8i Card.
I checked different images for this model but i can’t even tell which one of those is genuine cause there are some which has a blue metal cap, the “AOC-S2308L-L8i” has a white background instead of the text directly printed on to the card itself.
How do i identify if this is legit then and does anyone have an actual legit card for reference?
All you can really do is try to buy from a recommended reseller. For used parts, try to stick to the resellers that deal in used server parts and have good reviews. There may be some recommendations on the forums for past success stories.
I buy all my HBA cards from the Art of Server store. He updates, tests all the cards before putting them in the store. I have always had good service from him. Nice guy too. the Art of Server | eBay Stores
Other places as like mentioned, that refurbish and sell used server equipment. Most of those servers and cards would be pulled from working servers upgraded or changed out from large bushiness.
