Do I need to install TrueNAS from an optical drive?

It’s been a while since I updated TrueNAS, I figured I’d try a clean install for 25.10.2.1.

However, I’m having trouble booting from a USB imaged by Rufus.

Do I need to connect an optical drive for the install?

I used Ventoy to install recently

The ISO image is a hybrid image. You can use dd or BalenaEtcher or any other imaging software for write the iso block by block onto the stick.

Well, my issue could have been one of two things:

I was using Rufus initially, but had success after trying BalenaEtcher and reconnecting a loose USB cable.
