Hi, trying out new beta that includes native support for Docker.
Two questions on install/boot drive config:
I have 2 m.2 500gb disks (surprisingly difficult to buy brand name small m.2 drives), and the rest will be eventually be JBOD SATA/SAS via an LSI SAS card. Do I mirror the install for redundancy, or do I install on one m.2 and use the other for something else, i.e. two non-redundant drives?
If the boot disk is ZFS mirrored, how does the bios boot handoff work, e.g. what if the disk it is trying to boot is the dead one?
Lol, ok, was wondering if there is some magic uefi zfs logic
If I install on 1 disk, is there anything useful to do on the second disk as a non-zfs disk?
Or, am I really jsut wasting my m.2 disks and should find a sata-dom disk or something just for install?
If don’t mind the extra purchase, and can install a SATA-DOM, then this would allow you to mirror your m.2 drives into a dedicated “scratch” pool or “auxiliary” pool.
