Editing config.json doesn’t seem work for Transmission app in Scale

I have a problem with Transmission app. Although I can download and seed normally, one thing I have encountered with is the app always starts with the same settings, no matter config.json has been edited or not.

Here is what I did. First, I stopped the Transmission app. Then, I shelled and navigated to config.json and used sudo nano command, edited and saved. Then, I started the app again but it seemed the app didn’t go with my new settings.

I tried several times and now I think I need help. Please let me know how to fix this problem. Thank you

I’m not 100% on this but I believe that you need to edit the config.json that is in the data directory when you setup the app. I’ve not installed the Transmission app from TrueNAS as it didn’t have support for a VPN but the old TrueCharts version worked that way. If you shelled into the app and tried to edit the config.json it would work but the next time you restarted the app it would overwrite it from the Config Storage location. In the TrueNAS version it’s the location you define in the pic below I believe.
On another note I would caution you using this for anything related to Sonarr, Radarr, etc since it doesn’t have a VPN. I installed my Transmission in a VM along with Sabnzbd and OpenVPN and NFS mount my directories in for use from my TrueNAS box. Just my $.02 on that.

Thank you for your comment.
I did navigate to the path shown in the picture but the Transmission didn’t change to the new setting.

I think this might be a bug. Maybe, I need to reinstall, keeping the config file in the ix-application as default, and edit config.json in that path.

Same here. Config storage set to existing path and settings.json in this folder is overwritten on Transmission startup and shutdown so i’m unable to configure watch folder

I just tried reinstalling the app on ixvolume, and edited settings.json in the folder ixvolume but the file was still overwritten.
I think this is a bug.
