Electric Eel fixed our core dumps when using DFS - yay!

If anyone out there is using Scale to host DFS links you may have been experiencing multiple core dumps because of it.

The fix is in Electric Eel - we upgraded one of our production servers on Friday night specifically for this fix, so far no issues.

My inbox is no longer full of those annoying “Core files for executables have been found in /var/db/system/cores/” messages.

The bug and fix is detailed here for those interested, it’s in 24.10.0

Thank you @anodos325, much appreciated.

What’s the recommended system for setting up DFS on Scale now without aux parameters?

I’m not sure this is “recommended”, but this is what we did and so far seems to work ok.

Go to System Settings > Shell, then enter “cli” at the system prompt

Enter “sharing smb”, update the share to enable msdfs

Setup the links to another share (hello_world2):
