I went ahead and created the feature request since it seems like there are several of us who run Homebridge as an app on TrueNAS and are affected by this.

Add "Add External Interfaces" option to App creation settings

Problem/Justification In Dragonfish and earlier releases, there was an option to add an external interface to an app you were creating. This could be used to add the interface of the NAS directly to the container. This was used by apps like Homebridge, since they need to be directly on the network and talk to devices within your LAN.
