Expanding a pool, TrueNAS Scale "dragonfish"

Hi all,

My first post here.

I have just upgraded from TrueNAS core to TrueNAS scale Dragonfish-24.04.2.5

I have a pool of six 3TB disks (2,73 capacity), but some of the disks start to be bad and I have to replace. 3 TB I cant find, but 4 TB no problem.

So if I replace two broken 3 TB disks with for 4 TB, will the ZFS pool be able to expand so I can use the “extra” 2 TB added.

If I remember right, that was not the case with TrueNAS core, there a 4 TB disk would have been using only 3 TB.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Christer

Standard ZFS behaviour: You’ll get the extra capacity once all drives in the vdev have been replaced. (Minding the SCALE partitioning bug…)

OK, when all drives are replaced.
Thank you.

Indeed. It looks like it’s fixed in EE. For those not using EE, see:
