Hard Disks Not Being Seen

I am trying to standup a new TrueNAS server for home use. I have a supermicro x10sdv-8C-TLN4F motherboard, Sandisk SSD that I have the TrueNAS OS installed on. I have 5 Seagate ST4000NM0025 drives that I have connected to the system via the 5 sata 3 ports on the motherboard. I am repeatedly seeing the errors

ata3:SATA link down (SStatus 0 Scontrol 310)
ata3: limiting SATA link speed to 1.5 Gbps.
ata4:SATA link down (SStatus 0 Scontrol 310)
ata4: limiting SATA link speed to 1.5 Gbps.
ata5:SATA link down (SStatus 0 Scontrol 310)
ata5: limiting SATA link speed to 1.5 Gbps.
ata6:SATA link down (SStatus 0 Scontrol 310)
ata6: limiting SATA link speed to 1.5 Gbps.
ata3:SATA link down (SStatus 0 Scontrol 310)
ata3: limiting SATA link speed to 1.5 Gbps.

I updated the firmware and BIOS to the latest versions on the motherboard with no change.

In the BIOS in the SATA configuration the disks are showing up as Not Installed.

Any ideas on some troubleshooting steps I can take? I have already swapped out one of the sata cables for a different brand and there was no change.

The drives are SCSI interface, not SATA interface.

Hmmm.

I have the same board. I don’t think I’ve ever noticed that. Where are you seeing the errors? In the console?

BTW, there are 6 SATA ports on this board

But you are using SATA hard drives, not SCSI hard drives, right?

You guys found my issue, there were SAS drives instead of SATA drives. Appreciate the help.

Yes, SATA drives. You’re reply came while I was typing mine
