Have a good one with SMB share

I have current stable TrueNas Scale running … From my laptop ( Linux Mint XFC )I can connect and have full access to my shares. From a small Debian 12 XFCE home server with the same user I can mount and read all the files … but I can not create any type of file as my use from the small server. I have gone through everything I can think of … but no joy … any help would be greatly welcome.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

How are you accessing the shares?

Via the “address bar” in the Thunar file browser?

Via mount / systemd-mount / fstab, using the cifs module?

from the small server I mount them in fstab … from my laptop I am using Thunar cifs-utils is installed on both … it is a pain and makes no sense to me … just trying to save a few linux iso’s

small update, tried mounting the shared drive on my laptop via the fstab, and having the same issue. So I am not leaning to a permissions issue somewhere in TrueNas Scale… My user has read, write, execute on the share … owner of the share is apps … time to start playing with permissions I guess.

Have you set the peemissions from the WebUI?

yes … I was just going over all of them. All the pools and share were created with the WebUI

on another topic … how did you get the drop down list of your system ??
