Help with flashing an LSI 9300-8i

yes, it’s that time again… sorry folks, i can’t for the life of me figure this one out no matter what i’ve tried.

sas3flash -list shows adapter as an Avago SAS3008(co)
i think it’s in IR mode, but i’m not sure

I’ve formatted a usb drive with freedos and put the most updated lsi bins from ix (1600.1200 or something like that)…

Ive used the jumper on the pins but it says there’s a problem… using the jumpers off the pins gets me places…

the command i use is sas3flash -o -f sas9300_i8_it.bin (the name of the firmware i’m flashing it to) and it says "error: could not open the file: and it gives the file name.

i’ve shortened the file to “9300it.bin”
i’ve tried different flags… nothing works…

dunno if the sas3flash utility needs a later version but the one i have is all i could find online.

any ideas?

Do you need to make the file executable with permissions?

You can post back using preformatted text (</> or Ctrl+e) on toolbar. This just shows the current info

sudo sas3flash -list

no idea… was hoping i could update the firmware in windows just because I think it’s safer for me at the moment…

i ended up getting a 9400-16i off ebay. definitely came pre-flashed, uses less power, and supports more drives which i need anyway.
