Hitting 1GB/s with Win10 to Win10 with Intel X520-DA2. But only 112MB/s with TNC

Tested file xfer with Win10 to Win10 using Intel x520-DA2 and getting 9000 mbps. Installed TrueNAS Scale on one PC and getting 240 mbps.

So I know the switch (Aruba 3810) and the SFP+ BiDi is all good.

Ryzen 5500
32GB RAM
Asus Prime B550 MB
1TB Samsung NVME pool (3x)

Sorry that should read ~800 mbps and not 240.

How are you exactly transferring?

Win10 to Win10 SMB. Win10 to TrueNAS SMB Dataset.

Storage pool is RaidZ1 3 wide.

I just chucked in a Solar Flare SFP+ NIC and it’s fine… Hmm.

I’ll try the x520 in another slot

Overheating? May be try some active cooling?

Are there more then one nic in your box? If yes did you bind the smb service to the IP of your 10gig nic?
Sounds a lot like the smb service is using a 1gig connection

That’s a thought. The Solar Flare does use about ~ 1/2 the wattage. I just wanted to start with a build that everyone says is the gold standard.

Been using used Solar Flare for years for my DIY builds. Figures first time step off the path…

I put in a Solar Flare NIC and am currently maxing out my wire speed.

Do you have more than one network cable attached to and configured in the server?
A screenshot of your Network page from TrueNAS would be great.
