"home" directory created when user connects via SMB

Hey, I have a problem with sharing my files via SMB

When i create a dataset and share it through SMB all looks good, but when an user mounts the SMB share on the client side it seems that the system creates a “home” directory with the same name as the user inside the main dataset.
I want all the users to have a same “space” to share files, not separating the data of each user.

If anyone knows anything, tell me, I’m stuck with this shit and I can’t move forward with my project no matter how much I search the internet.

pay attention to “credentials > users”

is likely that you did that.

Nope, none of the users have home directory

The photo dindnt uploaded correctly in the first post, here it is if it can help to determine the problem

As u see, all the datasets that have SMB have a folder called “lfh”

Am new at this. The answer I gave you is because I’ve done that.

What is SMR ?

Oh, srry, bad writting, I mean SMB

Do you have the SMB share set to use Home Shares?

No, also unchecked…

Did you select the SMB share preset that is designed to automatically create per-user datasets on share connection?

Good thing it was a typo, otherwise it equals bad drive to have.

How do i know it?

You look at your share configuration. It’s displayed prominently on the form.

Ok, it seems like it fixed the problem, but I can’t say it’s solved for now, i will test more and confirm if it is solved. Thanks

Totally solved, thanks I didn’t think that option could do that!!!

I’d say that that is a bug. Not because one chooses that share to hold the users home share, the share will be created without selecting so in a user. My 2 cents
But am of course glad that it got solved.

It’s not a bug because this behavior is literally what the feature is described to do. It is not a home directory, but rather a unique dataset that is named after the user.
