How reliable are "to sata" adapters

Hi,

just wanted to know how reliable are adapters like
m2 to sata e.g. " Delock Converter M.2 2280 Key B+M male to 5 x SATA with heat sink"

or a pcie to sata adapter “Delock 4 Port SATA PCI Express”

are there things i should have a look at or just completly dont use them?

Avoid them. They are not reliable with TN.
Look this resource for more detail.

Just completely don’t use them.

Do you like to have 179000 errors on your drives ? If thats the case then they are great !

Thx I guess I just dont ujse them

I’ve used a cheap PCIe 1x card with 16 sata ports in my desktop build for a while without any major problems, that is outside of having a sata cable spagetti monster in the cabinet and not being able to boot from any drive connected to that card.

The problem with those m.2 adapter cards especially for minisas, but I also imagine for sata is that the cables have a lot of leverage on it.

It could work, but could also not. Definitely worth thoroughly testing before you put any valuable data on the disks you connect to it.
