How to add GPU ROM in Windows VM on TrueNAS SCALE

Just to mention, i don’t need the AI shit. Most of the things it tells is either outdated or the commands don’t work due to certain missing dependencies or other system related errors.

I know that you did not read the thread title carefully and its totally fine. Just to mention, i already know how to edit the XML for the VM and also used the ROM file, but the issue is that the changes are not persistent due to the fact how TrueNAS is built (as it stores those configuration in a database than the XML or JSON).

@Captain_Morgan With my knowledge, i’ve created a feature request. I hope the thread is as per the rules and other users may show their interest, hopefully.

Just did that

I read through this again…

If PCI pass-through works… that is great and what is expected.

The shutdown/restart causing TrueNAS to hang is unexpected. Perhaps that is really the bug that needs fixing.

Can you document that?

Just updated the other thread. On the same hardware, using Ubuntu KVM, I can easily shutdown or restart the Windows VM inside Windows or via Virtual Machine Manager GUI. But when I do it from TrueNAS, it halts.

So, you can report a bug based on that.

if its easily reproducible, its much easier to diagnose.
If you shut it down or restart via TrueNAS webUI… what happens?

Same behavior i.e. TrueNAS Host halts.

If TrueNAS crashes when the VM is shutdown,
OK… that’s an easy bug to report and troubleshoot. Please provide the bug ID.
