I am struggling to join the domain

My truenas Scale was initally joined to the domain, afterwards i did a physical migration of the server to a different rack, then i noticed i was disconnected from the AD currently i cannot rejoin the domain back again, when i try to join to the domain i get an error
Nameserver failed to resolve SRV record for domain

but i was able to ping the domain controllers i cannot figure out why i cannot join the domain. Sorry new to Truenas Scale

Is your server still connected to the same network/vlan as before?
Have you checked and verified this?

yes it is

Hi and welcome to the forums.

Is DNS working? Can you resolve?

NTP does this look correct?

FYI it’s not sufficient to just be able to resolve names. The AD-related SRV records also need to resolve through DNS (this often means DCs must be only nameservers present in configuration).

i can ping both servers and on my global configuration for DNS servers i have the IPs of the dns servers.

Can your TrueNAS resolve your AD servers with nslookup?

yes it can for both of them

You are likely going to have to provide more information on your setup since we’re just guessing here, based on almost no details at all.

What’s its current state in the UI?

Have you tried leaving the and re-joining?

Does date and time of the system look good?

Does the object still exist in AD?

Can you use dig to reserve AD SRV records through these nameservers? The most direct explanation is that the configured nameservers aren’t returning responses for required SRV records.

What’s its current state in the UI?
It says Active Directory and LDAP disabled

Have you tried leaving the and re-joining?
Apparently i cannot rejoin it.

Does date and time of the system look good?
Yes

Does the object still exist in AD?

nope i removed it myself

That’s an A record, not an SRV record. Try for instance to look up a kerberos record.

okay when i Nslookup SRV it cannot connect
