I have an email.send message stuck in Running Jobs

When I was setting up email alerts for the first time I sent a test message which failed. I then got the gmail configuration and receive regular alerts.

However, the Running Jobs pop-up at the top of the web interface always shows “mail.send stopped 2025-02-23 1341 X”.

I cannot find any way to get rid of this message.

For example, if I go in to the Jobs Page the earliest job (at the bottom of the page) is “mail.send FAILED” and the is no option to acknowledge or delete thjis alert.

Any suggestions?

Long into mail as the Admin or root user and see if the message is there?

Please can you explain what you mean?
(I cannot see anything useful in \var\mail or \var\spool and exim -bp reports the queue is empty)
