Install Truenas from Freenas, keep data on old drives

I had a Freenas ~9 system, with Plex primary purpose. I had 6 (I think) drives in a raid, I don’t remember which type. Boot flash drive failed. Purchased an SSD for boot drive, and will be installing Truenas 11. I don’t have any config file backups or anything. I will have to “rebuild” everything. The failure occurred about 3 years ago, and I haven’t taken the time to fix it…so I don’t remember much about it.

What will I need to do to keep the data on the old drives, and then use it for a “new” Plex?

Motherboard is a SuperMicro X10SL7-F, with probably 16GB RAM. HDs are all 4 TB drives.

Thank you for your assistance.

Lawrence

ps. I did do searches, but I couldn’t find anything pertinent.

Just import the pool and look what you find. It will detect the drives and the pool topology - unless some of the drives rotted away during the time you did not use the system.

If the import fails, you can come back to the forum for help.

Caveat: if your pool was encrypted, you cannot import it to TrueNAS SCALE/Community edition but only to TrueNAS CORE. Any you need the key or the pass phrase.

Thank you so very much. Now I just need to get motivated to do it.
