Hi everyone, I have an intel i5-7400 and an intel arc a380, and I was wondering if there is any way to select in the dropdown menu just the GPU and not the iGPU in the apps section. This is because after installing an app such as jellyfin you are given the choice on how many GPU resources to allocate and both the iGPU and the external GPU fall in the same bucket. Then what happens is that when I go to watch a movie the transcoding falls on the iGPU instrad of the external GPU with poor results.
I tried to isolate the iGPU, but I get an error saying that the GPU pci slot(s) are not avaible or a GPU is not configured.
You might need to select in your bios which is the default display adapter. Sometimes this needs to be done in order to allow the secondary GPU to be used with virtualization/containers.
I already did, on my BIOS I can either select the onboard or the PCIE card, I tried with both but the same error shows up.
I can use the GPU in both cases in the apps, but because my CPU has an iGPU, it gives me the option to allocate up to 10 gpu . intel . com/i915 GPU, but I have no way to choose if it is from the iGPU or the arc a380.
If you cannot select the ARC gpu inside the transcoding settings of Jellyfin then you will have to ensure that only the ARC gpu is passed to the container.
For that you have to deploy the container manually to get full control over its configuration (I recommend to use the Portainer APP for that).
Then you can handpick the GPU you want the Jellyfin container to have access to via the container configuration.
