Ive already setup offside backup between 2 TrueNAS Scale server at 2 different place by setting up replication tasks through Tailscale VPN and SSH. All setting are default: TCP port, username, timeout…
I have some concerns about enabling SSH connections, as it might make the system more vulnerable to attacks. I’m not sure if what I’m doing is correct or not. Are there any security issues? And are there any methods to fix and enhance the security?

Make SSH available only through tailscale, then you have no worries. I run tailscale on my pfsense router and advertise the truenas ip address, so I can ssh to my server anywhere as long as I am connected to my tailscale network. Easy and safe,
