Jail mount point migration from Core to Scale

I’m starting to think it’s time to consider migrating from Core to Scale. It looks like things should be pretty simple overall, but is there only VMs in Scale and no Jail/Container option with direct mount points?

My two jails reside on Core mainly because I wanted direct access to the storage. If I can’t move them and get them direct access with a mount point then I will probably need to rethink things before migrating.

I did look through the migration info and my impression was that there isn’t a jail/container option. Did I miss it somewhere?

I think you have to create them as VM’s or Containers on Scale

Dragonfish added official support for Sandboxes (shell only)

And the Jailmaker script can be used to make Linux Jails

I made a video demonstrating it:

Fangtooth (next major version of TrueNAS) brings Incus support for an even more advanced Jail like environment.

And Electric Eel added first class Docker support, which may obviate the need for Jails anyway.

Seems like sandboxes was the term I needed to search for. Thanks. Sandboxes should probably work fine for me, but I am going to look into Incus a bit more as it looks like a promising addition.
