I am not sure what exactly triggered this as I didn’t catch the issue until later. However, I have a docker jail set up which was able to access all of my subnets on my network (just testing by pinging the gateways for each subnet).
I noticed a couple days ago that my frigate instance was not sending notifications. Looking at the logs for it, I saw that it was not able to connect to the camera’s stream. I tried a bunch of changes to the frigate config to try and fix it; however, ultimately, I noticed that the jail just wasn’t able to ping to the subnet that the cameras are on.
The weird thing is that I am able to ping all subnets via the truenas shell so it leads me to think it can’t really be a firewall issue. From the truenas shell, I can access all subnets. From the jail shell, I can access all subnets except for the camera subnet. I have not touched any of the networking settings ever since I set up the jail a couple months ago so I’m not sure how it would randomly be affected now.
Has anyone run into a similar issue or can point me in the right direction on what I should be looking for trying to debug this issue?
