Locked out from GUI and SSH after bridge creation

Okay, so I’ve got a sticky one, and I may just have to reinstall. Running Scale 24.10, last night I setup a bridge with the NIC that my GUI/ssh access was going through. It worked for a little while, and after the “testing” delay, so I saved it. Today I can reach VMs that are associated to the bridge but cannot reach the Scale GUI or SSH to Scale or ping it

Catch is my hardware is a QNAP box that does not have any video or console options. No on board video, no PCI slots, no serial. Only option would be something USB

I’ve mounted the boot pool on another machine but have no idea what file(s) to modify to kill the bridge, if that’s possible. One thread I found said all of this is in a database. I also cannot get the boot drive to boot in the spare hardware I have which is essentially a tower PC that I don’t think will boot an NVME drive

I can SSH into the VM that is running, and I can even arping and get responses from Scale, but have tried everything I can think of to get into SSH or the web gui

Anyone got any ideas here?

… I don’t have a solution. Am new :baby:
But see if next time you can setup a “USB video output” adapter for such mishaps. It should be possible. And if that uses too much CPU have the driver shutdown after some time after boot. So to give you time to cancel the shut down of the service and troubleshot. My 2 cents. I don’t even know if any of that is possible.

I didn’t think a USB video device would work, but I’ve got one and gave it a shot. It does not work. The hardware/BIOS doesn’t support it as a native GPU and I do not believe TrueNAS has driver support. There are a number of adapters I can chain together to plug in a PCIe x1 video card into one of the U.2 slots but I don’t have such a card or the adapters, I will just reinstall and import my zpool in a new install before I go down that road

Yes, I figured that you would reinstall. But this could happen again and TrueNAS (SCALE) runs on Linux, and if there is a driver for Linux, it may just work in TrueNAS. But you’d have to set it up beforehand.
