I was copying data to my 4 yearold truenas when I went looked I saw that the lights were out on the 10Gb ix0 port where my cable was plugged in (as well as on the switch, when I moved the cable to the ix1 port the lights turn orange/blinking yellow on the truenas and orange on the switch.
This was set up for me a while ago and I am not really sure what to do but am in a real bind, any help would be appreciated!
You are a non-technical person ( for what you say ) so in your case I’d pull the cord from the wall, wait a few seconds and plug it again. Turn it on if it does not turn on on it’s own and see if that did it. ( that’s what I do in windows PCs )
Otherwise, that hardware port may have gone bad and need to be replaced.
If that is the case, you’ll need ( someone ) to go to the command line in that box and set networking.
On the other hand, if that other port is functional, you may get by, by configuring that port to handle the networking. Putting aside replacing that card to another day.
You can try this until someone from iX comes to the rescue.
