I’m a bit puzzled. It’s been hot here 29 degrees, and I’m wondering if that’s the cause of my problems. Now it’s only 23.
My server turns off at 2 am and back on at 6 pm.

I got the following email just now
" table {white-space: normal; }
The following alert has been cleared:

  • Pool TVShowsPool state is DEGRADED: One or more devices has been removed by
    the administrator. Sufficient replicas exist for the pool to continue
    functioning in a degraded state.
    The following devices are not healthy:

  • Disk TOSHIBA HDWG21E 2490A009FP7G is REMOVED"

SO I check the status of the pool, and it says

RESILVER

Status: FINISHED

Errors: 0

Date: 15 July, 2025 18:09:44

I checked the smart of the drive and every test is fine, but they are the short tests

So what’s just happened?

One disk was diconnected (“the adminstrator” is very misleading), then came back and ZFS did its thing. Run a long SMART test, check that cooling is sufficient on the HBA and chipset (but then multiple drives would have affected)…
And if no lead pops out you may never know what happened.

Hmm could be a ghost, I have a ring camera with motion detection and notifications enabled pointing to the room. At night it keeps sayin “you are being recorded”. Hmmm, and Halloween is only a few months away :joy::joy:
