Problem/Justification
Please provide a supported method to customize Avahi daemon settings, or expose the disallow-other-stacks option through the TrueNAS UI/API. Any app that runs mDNS-based services cannot run due to this service not sharing the port.
Currently you can change the default config file, but a reboot reverts the changes due to
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/middlewared/etc_files/local/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf.mako
The above file cannot be changed because it is read-only.
Impact
This would be a good feature to add. It’s only allowing the changes made to the config file to be saved on reboots.
User Story
I am currently running a docker container for matter-server which requires the mdns port to be available or shared. Any reboot changes that file and makes it incredibly annoying to go in and fix. Please allow other mDNS stacks to share UDP 5353
