Not a meme, but I can’t help pointing that “@ABain says ‘NO’” even to @HoneyBadger … 13 months after the feature request was created, so it is a good summary of the issue which is being solved.
Plot Twist: ABain is just a poorly written discourse bot that doesn’ differentiate between normal forum users and iX employees

“Ask and you shall receive” was yet another lie.
Wow, do we have any stats on the ratio of accepted features to rejected ones?
From what I see it seems to be < 10%.
As explained in the post, we are actively cleaning up, and we’ve accepted that this has been left to sit far too long.
When I started this review 10 days ago, there were over 400 open items, many of which were over a year old, with few votes and no engagement; votes were massively spread due to the large number of open topics.
The process is taking time because, as I go through each item, I am trying to capture feedback on usability improvements and functional requests, as I think there is a lot of valuable information that we should consider during future changes. As of this morning, 116 remain open. I’m still working through items, so this number will likely change. I appreciate everyone’s patience and humor during this time ![]()
For the record, I don’t have any issues with the amount of rejected/closed feature request, I was just teasing.
I think TrueNAS is nearly perfect as it is
Never thought i’d see that picture on a tech forum… even if it’s in the meme section… and now i have a song stuck in my head…
ahhah sorry this time i went full throttle
I have to attend a Product Training meeting with one of our suppliers in like half an hour and i have “oooh you touch my tralala” stuck in my head… that’s going to be interesting…
This just set my brain back about 10 years.
I’ve ended up with a separate acme container (inside my proxmox), which then deploys the cert to truenas. However, according to @dan, the deploy API is deprecated in the newer versions of truenas
.
This is neither true nor what I’ve said. According to iX, the REST API is deprecated in 25.04. However, SCALE has had a Websocket API for some time (perhaps since its first release), which is definitely not deprecated, and for which I also have a script.
the REST API is deprecated
seems legit
