So ive noticed something interesting.
I have 4 truenas boxes all identical. 1tb of ram, slog, 12 800gb sas ssds for l2arc and 2 800 nvme for meta drive.
Meta size is set to 8kb
The servers have about 7tb of vms on them, the iscsi hosted data only 31gb of data and is barely used, the nfs hosted data has about 455gb of used meta space.
I ran the tool to see how much space meta should use, and I moved everything off and on again and thats what ended up being used.
Im running true nas 13.3 non beta.
ive been back and forth between nfs and iscsi over the years but may have found a reason to maybe stick with nfs?
we are just trying to keep some load on for the week and come up with some testeing so we can figure out \if one is actually more beneficial under load.
