Migration guide for VM's from Electric Eel -> Fangtooth?

I currently run Home Assistant OS (HAOS) on a 40GB zvol in a VM (/mnt/tank/virtual-machines/haos). It’s reliable, and well established.

With the upcoming move to Fangtooth and its rejig of VM’s, what’s the easiest / safest way to migrate my existing VM into Fangtooth? Will it be automagic, or will I need to start a new VM using the existing zvol?

And in terms of networking, I’m currently using virtIO and br0, and using my router to assign an IP4 address to the VM’s MAC, which I’m using in turn for secured WAN access through HAproxy. What’s the best way to migrate / set up networking so I can keep the current LAN/WAN setup?

Thanks in advance, experts!

It’s not going to migrate automatically at this time. You can do it manually by attaching your zvol to a new machine or wait for the upgrade process to handle this for you in a future release.

Anyone have any idea when the VM Migration is going to be available? I’ve followed the manual migration steps several times on my test system and so far none of my VMs migrate over and I have to recreate them from scratch. Not a big deal with one or two but when you have several it’s a pain. I get the need to update things but this seems like a big functional misstep to not have this on release. :frowning:
