I’m new to using NAS … Currently using TrueNAS SCALE with a 2Tb and 3Tb drive - striped to be used as 5Tb storage drive. Is it possible to use add a 4Tb or 6Tb drive to mirror the existing setup? If so how?
No. You could add two drives, one as a mirror of the 2 TB and the other as a mirror of the 3 TB, but you can’t use a single drive as a mirror of the two combined[1].
If you wanted to mess around at the CLI, you could partition a 6 TB drive and mirror the 2 TB drive with one partition and the 3 TB drive with the other, but you’d be in unsupported territory in that case. ↩︎
