Hello, I shut down my server about 5 months ago. When I brought it back up, not of my VM are working. Pool offline. Can anyone assist?

The command runs OK on my scale system, but the START values are not that important at this stage.
So, you have 8 drives, and all 8-drives are visible and used for the boot and Storage Pools.
So what exactly is missing? Are there disks that you haven’t mentioned?
(What I see so far seems to be a VM pool which exists in TrueNAS UI but doesn’t exist as far as Debian ZFS is concerned, and no drives in your system that could actually be holding the VM pool. This is VERY confusing, to say the least.)
I didn’t spot this.
What PERC card? You never mentioned this in your hardware spec, nor the drives attached to it.
But to answer the question:
The good news: If you can configure it back to exactly the same settings, the drives attached to this should hopefully become visible again.
The bad news: If you have to configure the PERC card then it is probably unsuitable for use in TrueNAS - TrueNAS needs HBAs that act like dumb SATA controllers rather than clever RAID controllers.
I note that the lspci
lists the following that is probably the PERC card you mention (though I cannot tell whether this is a Dell PERC card - and if so which one or some other storage controller card):
- RAID bus controller: Broadcom / LSI MegaRAID SAS-3 3108 [Invader] (rev 02)
The problem with the 3108 is that (according to this page) this controller cannot be flashed into IT mode - you can only run it in JBOD mode which is not the same as far as ZFS is concerned and is not recommended.
Potentially worse news: If you have the 3108 configured as JBOD, that would be slightly bad, but if you have it configured to e.g. do mirroring of drives for your VM pool (rather than ZFS doing the mirroring), then that is much much worse.
Recommendation: Once you have it working again, if your VM pool is important to you then you should plan to: 1) Move the VM pool contents elsewhere temporarily. 2) Destroy the VM pool. 3) Replace the 3108 with a different LSI HBA which can be flashed into IT mode. 4) Recreate the pool and copy the contents back again.
(Or if you have the PCIe slot to run the new HBA in parallel, and extra disks for a new pool, then you can create a new-VM pool and replicate the data straight across.)
Hello, the 2 drives are specifically for the NAS OS only. The other 6 have all my VM’s on them. This is everything.
For the question about the perc it’s a PERC H730. It did not lose config, no RAID is assigned, so it as it should be. I can see that it sees the drives, but the pool fails to connect to the VMs Storage pool.
When I click on the VMs Storage pool “Managed Devices” its also empty.
Everything was working just fine until it powered down. I can say that the server had lost power 2 times when I tried to boot it up the first time in 5 months, because the server was not plugged into a UPS (but is now) and I later found the outlet was connected to a light switch, so it powered off instantly 2 times before I found the problem. Could this be the cause?
What can I do to keep from losing these VM’s?
Do I upgrade to a newer version of TrueNas, will that matter?
Should try to export and reimport?

How do I move the contents off the current ZFS, is there a guide somewhere to do this?
That will depend on where you want to move it to, and what you are trying to move.
I think we probably have insufficient information at present to be able to advise.
Paul - All six of your non-boot drives are visible - they are part of the pool named Storage. So look in the Storage pool and see if your data is there.
Assuming your data is in the pool named Storage, then as far as I can tell, to summarise, the only issues you have are:

a false pool called VM with no disks defined in TrueNAS but not defined in the operating system - and the solution is to remove it from the TrueNAS UI;

the pool now seems to be named Storage instead of VM - if you want to rename it we can probably help with that;

the 6x RAIDZ2 disks are attached to an unsupported RAID controller which should probably be replaced (and you will probably need to rebuild the pool when you do this).
