Not sure what the issue is. can someone help please?
I am guessing that your version of TrueNAS is too old to get any updates for the version of FreeBSD it has. That version isn’t supported by FreeBSD anymore. Upgrading your TrueNAS version to the latest 13.3 version may help you out but TrueNAS Core is pretty much dead. Take a look at TrueNAS Scale and see if you could go to that and get all the functionality you require.
The page for TrueNAS Core and the download was a bit hard to find.
Main TrueNAS Core page. See DOWNLOAD link on right side off page if you need it. You would want to end up on TrueNAS CORE 13.3-RELEASE to update your jails, etc.
You probably need to upgrade to the latest of TrueNAS 12 and then upgrade to 13.3, if that is your choice. Please see the TrueNAS Documentation section. https://www.truenas.com/truenas-core/
oh man, i was a firm believer of “if it aint broken, don’t fix it” but now it seems like i have to upgrade. i always avoid because i hear horror stories. Do oyu know if the upgrade is smooth and i wouldn’t have to configure a lot of stuff again? i am running sonarr, radarr, sabnzbd, and nextcloud. that’s it. I had issues with permission before, and i just dont want to run into those isses again.
If you are talking about upgrading TrueNAS 12 to latest and then to TrueNAS 13.3, that shouldn’t be too bad. Saving your current configuration and doing a backup of your entire NAS. Doing an OS upgrade. Doing the same thing over again for the next jump.
I don’t know where you would be on upgrades of your Jails or what versions of Jails the latest TrueNAS 13.3 supports but that is the only way to get updates for anything Jail related. Even if you do that, you are still stuck with support will fall off the versions of FreeNAS and back to your current situation if you need to update packages.

You want to end up on TrueNAS 13.3. You still have a system update to go.
You have to either download the entire thing and install or download just the update 13.0 to 13.3 and install update using manual file. It doesn’t appear in the GUI update menu dropdown
If you Download STABLE and do a new install, you will have to load your configuration. If you use the Manual Update, I think everything is ready to go and update the FreeBSD versions inside the Jails and then update packages too.
