I would love to see an option in the Tailscale app to use an exit node (not only to function as one)
Especially interesting would be to use the Mullvad exit nodes.
This would make it possible to very easily set the TrueNAS behind a privacy VPN without doing it on the firewall side (which many might not have access or knowledge to do)
The functionality is implemented and documented on the tailscale side and I honestly think its kinda awesome.

I’d really like to see full exit node support in the Tailscale app on TrueNAS. Being able to route traffic through personal or Mullvad nodes would add a lot of flexibility, especially for remote access and privacy. I’ve used it on other platforms, and it works great—just need consistent implementation on TrueNAS. Hope this gets on the roadmap soon!
Not to take away from the request, but as you both sound like more advanced users… the container is easy to deploy yourself and then you can set any settings.
