Nvidia k80 driver install

hi,
was hoping some one could give me some information on installing tesla k80 on true nas. the system has been down about a year. more ram and the gpu. have not turned it on yet. dl380p, 192 ram, dual processor and PSU.

if you have done this or can make suggestion to make this easer i would appreciate. have downloaded the legacy driver that was suggested by A.I. and nvidia.

have not updated to most recent version. would this make it easier. should this be done first.
newbie so step by step would be helpful.

thanks

Until the next Version in october it’s not supported to install Drives for Nvidia yourself. With the next Version, as far as i understood it, the Nvidia driver is no longer tied to the truenas OS and you can choose which driver will installed.

sir thank you for responding. if i understand what you wrote. in October the system will be more compatible to Nvidia driver?

if in stalled to a vm, can you share with all vms and OS?

the system has not been on for 1 year. when i upgrade will it recognize the pcie device is there?

thanks
gb

In October the whole apps system will get a major rework and change from kubernetes to docker. With that change iX decided to de-couple the nvidia driver from the OS and you will be able to choose the driver to install ( i think it was from a drop down menu)
If the gpu will be available for more then one vm i can’t tell. I don’t use vms, everything i run, runs in docker container.
