I’m sitting in front of a Truenase Scale 24.04.2 that is not allowed to have internet access due to sensitive contents. I need to install an app (rsync daemon), but the whole gui seems to require internet access. How can I get the rsync app and install it offline?
IIRC you can use local paths during app creation. That way you could locally save the rsync image on a dataset on the machine, provide the full path to the image during the creation of a custom app and should be able to deploy rsync as a custom app without internet access.
Hmm. I’ve just installed a virtualized copy of Truenas on an host with internet access. On that system it was fairly easy to install rsyncd.
However, I have absolutely no clue what I need to tar and move to the secured network.
