Plex not uploading Profile Pictures?

Created a new profile this weekend and wanted to set a profile picture for it but i can’t seem to get it to upload the profile picture.

The three profiles i created initially after the install way back when i could link profile pictures to but i haven’t needed to create new profiles or update profile pictures since then so i’m not sure when this stopped working.

I’ve tried it through the admin after creating the account i’ve tried it through the account nothing works.

I click Save Changes it spins for a while and just reverts back to this windows. My default browser is firefox but i have tried brave as well does the same.

I even tried updating one of the profiles that currently has a Profile pic it doesn’t get changed.

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks was planning on asking there as well, but just not always sure who is responsible for what when it comes to these things.

On the one side one sometimes gets the idea it IxSystems / TrueNAS Scale supported (which gives the idea they do it so asking on Plex forum would be useless) other times one gets the idea TrueNAS has nothing to do with these except giving a platform for these things to run but then again why the Apps part of the forum then.

I can’t speak for iX, but as these things generally go (as with other NAS products that have a library of applications available) they’ll only support the installation of the software. Once it’s installed successfully it’s down to the app’s community and/or developers to support.

If you search the Plex forums you may find someone else who’s had a similar issue (and maybe even a fix!), or else be asked to provide logs. The Plex support forums are typically very helpful, and with such a complex piece of software I think you’ll get better support there than here.

My suspicion is that this will turn out to be a filesystem write permissions thing, as profiles are local to your server, but I’m not a TrueNAS or Plex support professional

Seems to be a issue over all systems as some people refer to Sinology systems as well.

When it comes to the app install, about the only issue which could be TrueNAS specific is if it was a permissions problem, or if it’s about gpu pass through
