I’m getting ready to update my TrueNAS CORE 12.0-U8.1 system to SCALE and want to backup my Plex Media Server in case I have reinstall.
Can anyone tell me the Plex files / folders I need to backup and their locations?
p.s. I am planning moving to the latest CORE release before I jump to SCALE.
The folder is called literally “plexdata” or “plexdata-plexpass” depending on which version you installed. It’s in /usr/local if you installed from pkg-ng. I recommend making a tar archive from the folder and copying that out. Not all the individual files/folders.
Also, make sure to update to Core 13.0-U6.2 before you try to crossgrade to SCALE.
@SeaFox The first screenshot below is my Plex jail /usr/local. The second is the directory I think I want, /Plex Media Server.
Yeah that seems right. Just back up the whole ‘Plex Media Server’ folder.
