Pool with very infrequent use – how to spin down?

I’ve got a pool with a single mirrored vdev that’s used as primary storage for all my photos. This pool is only in use when I import or edit my photos, which might be once every week or so.

To me, this seems to be a use case where the common wisdom in the forums (i.e. to not spin drives down) doesn’t hold?

Given I’m right about that: How do I spin down this pool in the best way between photo editing sessions?

Going into Storage → disks → edit of each disk, you can set hdd standby to something different from always on (IMHO, at least 30 Min), and advanced Power management to level 1; afaik this should be enough.
To avoid frequently un wanted spin down - spin up, check if some process wake up disks, and in my experience you would disable automatic smart test and do It manually on need
