PowerEdge T110 II and TrueNAS Scale

Hi guys
I’m newbie at this community, so I’m glad to share with you this space.

Recently I’ve bought a PowerEdge T110 II to use as a Home NAS.

The question is If somebody can share in this thread his/her experience and the config he/she is using for that system.

I want to mount a bunch of disks (I know that 4/5 is the limit), but I’m wondering if I can install a PCIe NVME card and boot from it. This card can hold 2 NVME in RAID 1 (for example) and install on it TrueNAS.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Regards

Yes - you should be able to do this, or install a PCIe HBA to be able to attach more SATA or SAS devices.

But you need to select the right PCIe card to match your MB capabilities and avoid terrible technology that causes bottlenecks or worse still puts your data at risk.
