Proper procedure to run freenas-update from local .tar file

Hello,

I seem to not be able to find information on how to start upgrade procedure from .tar file I copied in the random /mnt/vzp/software folder.

I had my system humming along since 2015 and its time to upgrade from 9.3 to 9.10 and onwards. I copied FreeNAS-9.10.2-U6-manual-update.tar onto my freenas but struggle to start the upgrade process.

In the current TrueNAS version, you simply go to the upadate tab, select “Apply Manual Update” then select you update file.

With older freenas versions you could run freenas-update <path to manual update file> locally. Don’t interrupt it once the update is started.
