Q: TrueNAS Scale 24.04 (dragonfish) w/ Nextcloud 30.0.5 migration to TrueNAS Scale 24.10 (electriceel)

Question:
I’m currently running TrueNAS Scale 24.04.2.5 (dragonfish) w/ Nextcloud 30.0.5
Everything is working well, and has been for quite some time now.

I’d like to migrate to TrueNAS Scale 24.10 (electriceel).
However, I’ve been reading about the move from Kubernetes to Docker.
Is Nextcloud “electriceel ready”?

In my searching so far, I see a few people have stubbed a toe upgradeing to TrueNAS Scale 24.10 w/ the Nextcloud app, resulting in the Nextcloud app being broken.
So far, I don’t find anything indications of automatic migration and/or migration automation for Nextcloud.

So…
What say you who have already migrated to TrueNAS Scale 24.10?

How will this effect my Nextcloud app during the TrueNAS Scale upgrade?
Will the Nextcloud app be seamlessly upgraded?
Or do I need to manually do something like;

  • back up all my Nextcloud data
  • uninstall the Nextcloud app
  • upgrade to TrueNAS Scale 24.10 (electriceel)
  • re-install Nextcloud
  • restore Nextcloud data

I see this bullet in the 24.10 upgrade notes [*1]

Automatic app migration on upgrade from 24.04 is at parity for all official catalog applications. A few applications might require manual migration steps, depending on the options enabled in 24.04. For more information, see the comments for [Home Assistant] and [Tailscale]

So, maybe I’m overthinking things.
But still, I wonder what experience others here have had upgrading to TrueNAS Scale 24.04 to 24.10 w/ an existing Nextcloud app install.

I did this same upgrade in December. Backup your data (mine was replicated to another machine just in case). The migration went smooth as glass. The “official” Nextcloud app upgraded without issue and could use it just fine. You might need to update the app catalog after the migration (I suggest you do it anyway).
To refresh the apps catalog,
Apps → Discover Apps → Refresh Catalog

I can report success too!!

After making a backup of my Nextcloud database, I kicked off the upgrade from 24.04.2.5 (dragonfish) to 24.10.1 (electriceel).
The upgrade proceeded smoothly. And the Nextcloud app migration completed quietly behind the scenes.

All good.
