Question about Backups of ISCSi Volumes

Hi,

I have a question regarding the posibilities of Truenas to backup ISCSi devices.
I have two truenas devices which are connected directly (TrueNAS1 and TrueNAS2).
TrueNAS1 has 2 NICs, one is connected to the office LAN and the other is used for a Network where only TrueNAS1 and TrueNAS2 are connected.
TrueNAS2 only has one connection, which is the one to TrueNAS1.
TrueNAS1 has a zvol which is used as a ISCSi device for a Windows Server and is therefore formated as NTFS.
I want to backup the contents of the ISCSi device from TrueNAS1 to TrueNAS2.

I already tried using snapshots but they are empty and after sending them from TrueNAS1 to TrueNAS2 they remain 96KB in Size.
The size is unrealistic since there are about 10TB of Data on the ISCSi Device.

Is it possible to transfer the data from TrueNAS1 to TrueNAS2 or should I change the way I connect TrueNAS1 to the Windows Server?

Thank you in advance.

Hard to work out what you have done.

Follow this guide and let us know where it doesn’t work.

You can replicate ZVols from one TN to another.

You probably have made a configuration mistake. Possibly not recursively replicating?

Hi,

thank you for your answers.
I forgot to mention one information.
When I connect to the TrueNAS via SSH and open the zVol directory, it appears empty.
Even recursive snapshots do not show any folders here.

A zvol is a block device, not a folder - you will not see any contents over SSH.
