RAID 0 vs JBOD merge, which one is more reliable with 2 4TB drives? (i do have a backup)

As the title suggest i’m trying to figure out what is the best configuration with my limited budget
Basically i do have all my data in separate external drives. I’m willing to buy 2 4TB Ironwolf nas drives and put it in my old workstation. I will use all my external drives as a second copy of the most important data. I don’t care about perfomance since i will not edit off the drive, i do have an NVME for that.

I’m looking for the most reliable setup knowing that RAID is not a backup. So i have 2 options, RAID 0 or mergeFS afaik. But which one is the most reliable?
thanks a lot

No hardware RAID is the most reliable.

i was wondering which one was better

The answer is: None of them!

If you do want 8 TB of raw space with no redundancy (and understand the risks…), create a stripe of two single-drive vdevs.
